MetaTrader 4 is a native Windows application and cannot be used directly on Mac systems. However, it can be utilized on Mac by using a dedicated Mac installer.*1
If you already have an MT4 trading account, you can trade by downloading, installing, and logging in.
*1For Mac users, we recommend using MetaTrader 5.
1. Before Installing MetaTrader 4
MetaTrader 4 (MT4) is widely used around the world and is known as the most popular trading platform. With a PC that meets the recommended specifications, you can fulfill the requirements for trading with MetaTrader 4 for Mac.

Recommended System Requirements
MetaTrader 4 for Mac is recommended for use on devices running macOS Monterey, released in October 2021. Please note that systems manufactured before 2006, prior to the introduction of Intel-based CPUs, may not meet the recommended system requirements.
Even if the above conditions are met, we recommend that you use MetaTrader 5 when using Mac, as the possibility of operational problems is relatively high.
In addition, opening an MT4 account with FXON is required in order to login with MT4. Please proceed with the following steps after ensuring that you have opened the account successfully and received login information via your registered email address.
Double-click the downloaded zip file "Meta Trader4.pkg", then double-click the extracted pkg file named "MetaTrader 4".
4. Start the Installation
When the installation screen appears, click "Continue" to begin installation.
5. Confirm the Terms of License Agreement
When the terms of license agreement appear, please review the content and click "Continue". You may print or save the agreement for reference.
6. Accept the Agreement
If you agree to the terms, click the "Agree" button. If you choose the "Disagree", the installation will be canceled.
7. Run the Installation
After confirming the installation location and required capacity, click "Install".
8. Installation Permission
Enter your Touch ID or password to allow installation.
9. Completion of installation
The message "The installation was successful" is displayed, the installation is complete. Click "Close," and when a confirmation window appears asking if you want to remove the installer to the trash, click "Keep.
During the installation process, a website called "MQL5 Community", operated by MetaQuotes, will be displayed automatically in your browser. You may close the window without any issues.
Purpose of Use for MQL5 Community
MQL5 community offers a variety of functionalities. For example, users can purchase or freely obtain custom indicators and EAs (automated trading programs), distribute their trades as signals, engage in copy trading by subscribing to signals from other traders, as well as request tool development from certified freelance developers.
10. Launch the MetaTrader 4
After installation is completed, MetaTrader 4 will automatically start and a pop-up window for login will appear as shown in the screen below.
If the login information entry window is not displayed, you can still display the window by selecting "File" > "Log in to Trade Account" from the menu bar.
You can also check whether the login was successful by looking at the status bar in the bottom-right corner. When the login is completed successfully, numbers in the format " ~ / ~ kb" will be displayed.
If the login information is incorrect, the message "Invalid account" will appear. If there is an issue with the network connection, the message "No connection!" will be displayed. In such cases, please verify your login details and check your network environment.
