How can I display the Ask price on the chart?

In MetaTrader 4 (MT4) or MetaTrader 5 (MT5), you can display the Ask price from the chart's properties screen. Below are the steps for displaying it on a PC.

1. Open Chart Properties

Right-click on the chart (or click "Charts" in the menu bar) and select "Properties."

2. Enable Ask Price Line

In MT4, go to the "Common" tab in the chart's properties window, (1) enable the "Show Ask line" option, and (2) click "OK" to apply the changes.

In MT5, go to the "Show" tab in the chart's properties window, (1) enable the "Show ask price line" option, and (2) click "OK" to apply the changes.

3. Ask Price Display

The current Ask price will now be displayed on the chart.

Key Point

MT4/MT5 charts are based on Bid prices, and by default, only Bid prices are displayed on the chart. Therefore, it is not possible to form a chart based on Ask prices.
